Gingrich is a 6’2”, 200 lb. catcher who makes his home in San Jose, California and starred for 2 years with San Jose City College before transferring to the Waves as part of a recruiting class that was ranked 7th in the U.S. by Baseball America. Gingrich was 2nd Team All Conference at San Jose after leading the Jaguars with a .306 average, including 7 doubles and 16 RBIs. This season at Pepperdine, Gingrich is part of a team that has won 16 of its last 19 games and is currently ranked 29th in NCAA, Division 1 by Collegiate Baseball.

“The Dawgs are thrilled to sign Lucas Gingrich to the 2005 roster. Lucas is an outstanding defensive catcher who can really stabilize and get the best out of a talented young pitching staff. We also know he can swing the bat and will add a lot of pop to the Dawgs line up.”
