Dawgs announce first player signing

The Calgary Dawgs Baseball Club is pleased to announce the signing of its first college player for the 2003 season. Jim Henderson, a native Calgarian, currently playing with the College of Tennessee Wesleyan of Division 1, NAIA, has agreed to play in the Dawgs inaugural season.

Jim was a standout as a RHP/INF with the Calgary Dawgs Youth Team which led to impressive stints on Team Alberta and Canada’s Junior National Team in 1999 and 2000.

Playing with Team Alberta at the 2002 Canada Summer Games in London, Ontario, Jim led all hitters slugging 4 home runs.

In the past two seasons, Jim has starred with the Midland, Texas Chaparrals of the Texas Junior College conference. He finished the 2002 season batting .397 with 11 home runs earning a further scholarship to Tennessee Wesleyan where he joins the Tennessee Bulldogs of Division 1, NAIA.
