Dawgs announce Strength and Conditioning Coach and Trainer to complete coaching staff

Calgary Dawgs Baseball Club is pleased to announce that Chris Osmond, CSCS and Sara Sahagian have joined the staff as Strength and Conditioning Coach and Trainer respectively.

Chris Osmond holds a Bachelor of Physical Education & Athletics from Memorial University and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a Certified Fitness Trainer and Therapist as well as a Certified Olympic Weightlifting Coach. He recently served as Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club having spent the 2002 season with the Twins’ AAA affiliate, the Edmonton Trappers. Prior to that Chris was Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Jamestown College of the NAIA. He also served both as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Director at Olds College after having worked part time as Strength and Conditioning Coach with the University of Calgary Dinosaurs.

Sara Sahagian is a certification candidate with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. She has a diploma in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal College and a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. As well she has her Sports First Response Certification. Sara’s training experience includes 5 seasons with the Airdrie Thunder Junior Hockey Club, time with the University of Calgary Ladies Field Hockey team and the Knights Senior Men’s Lacrosse team. Sara is currently preparing for her certification exam in June with the therapists at Alpine Sports Injury and Rehabilitation in Mayfair Place.

Dawgs welcome Chris and Sara on board for the inaugural 2003 Season beginning with a home opener weekend Friday, May 31st to Sunday, June 1st and are absolutely thrilled to offer their players this level of qualified professionals.
