Dawgs add WMBL Allstar Vince Ircandia for 2004

Calgary Dawgs are very pleased to announce that 1st Team WMBL All Star, Vince Ircandia has agreed to return to the Dawgs for the 2004 summer college season.

Ircandia is a native Calgarian currently on scholarship to Niagara University of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Association, NCAA Division 1. Currently in his junior season, Ircandia is looking to add to an impressive college career. He led Niagara in 7 offensive categories as a freshman batting .341 with 60 hits, 4 home runs and 37 RBIs earning Freshman All American honors for an outstanding freshman season.

Ircandia followed that up in the 2003 college campaign by batting .345 with 4 home runs, 5 triples, 46 RBIs, a .442 on base percentage and 19 stolen bases in his sophomore season earning a selection to the All Metro Atlantic Conference 1st Team.

This fall Ircandia led Niagara to a 20-2 drubbing of 2 time Canadian National Champs, Brock University, going 5 for 6 with 2 doubles, 5 runs scored, 5 RBIs and 3 stolen bases.

For the Dawgs in 2003, Vince was named to the 1st All Star Team of the WMBL after batting .337 with a league leading 8 triples, 41 RBIs, 48 runs scored, a .442 on base percentage and a team leading 15 stolen bases.
